James Phillip Bartholomew

James Phillip Bartholomew was born March 28th,1944 in Mobile, Alabama. He passed away peacefully at the age of 76 on September 19th, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas with his devoted wife of 40 years, Marta, by his side. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He is proceeded in death by his mother Catherine & father Valmore, as well as his younger brothers William & Robert. He leaves behind his wife, 5 children Channon Johnson, Angela White & her husband Keith White, Theresa Germain & her husband Steven Germain, Ashley Bartholomew & her husband Marc Sandeman and his only son James Bartholomew Jr. He also leaves behind, 8 grandchildren, Imani Williams,Jaelyn & Kailynn Johnson, Jade Germain, Elijah & Isaiah White, and Leyla & Zara Bartholomew. He is survived by 3 brothers Eugene, Valmore, & Edward Bartholomew and 3 sisters Marion Jimenez, Carolyn Streeter and Elizabeth Bartholomew. He was a longshoreman for 33 years prior to retiring in 2005. He enjoyed his final years spending time with his family, watching westerns & eating good food. He could light up a room with his laughter. He was a quick witted, sharp dresser, who left a forever impression on everyone’s life he entered. He will be missed greatly and remembered fondly.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, Texas. 78238 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M with a evening service at 7:00 P.M.
