

He was born in Clarendon, TX on June 20, 1920 to John Roy and Mary Swift Bartlett.
He attended the University of Texas, and upon graduation was employed by Ernest & Ernest, an international public accounting firm, in the San Antonio office. On December 26, 1941, he joined the Army Air Corp., where he was a navigator assigned to the 345th Bomb Group, 500th Bomb Squadron, serving in the Western Pacific.
When the war ended, he returned to san Antonio and his job with Ernest & Ernst.
In the early 1950's his firm offered him a partnership that required him to relocate from San Antonio.
He chose to resign rather than leave, and went into private practice as James F. Bartlett CPA.
Mr. Bartlett belonged to several professional public accounting organizations, and served as a member of the Downtown Kiwanis Club, The Board of Trustees of Boysville and the Baumberger Endowment. He is survived by: one son and daughter-in-law, John G. and Vicki L. Bartlett of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX; and one granddaughter, Tally M. Barber and husband, Travis of San Antonio, TX. two sisters, Marilyn Grider of Amarillo, TX and Betty Jo Goodman of La Canada, CA;
A Graveside Service was held Saturday in Sunset Memorial Park.
