

He was born on July 7, 1925 to Henry William Boring and Adeline Caroline Jasper-Boring in Joplin, MO.
He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 17, shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was in the Pacific Theater where he earned two Purple Hearts with a Gold Star. He continued his service in the U.S. Army where he served in Korea and Vietnam, completing 30 years of military service.
Shortly after his military career, he dedicated his life to full-time Christian ministry.
Pastor Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Donetta Ruth and his daughter, Dayna Lynn.
He is survived by his seven children and their spouses: Philip S. Crowell; Donna S. Baldwin and husband, Jesse; Cathy V. Crowell; Paula C. Stakes and husband, John; Suzanne N. Johnson; Melody A. Evans and husband, David; and James R. Boring and wife, Gayle. Jim was a doting grandfather to 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
As a soldier, father and minister, Pastor Boring left a lasting legacy of integrity, valor and service to his country, love for his family, with a faithfulness to his Lord Jesus Christ.
