Lt. Col Jim Bower III, US. Army (Ret), born in Arena, Wisconsin, died Thursday, September 15, 2011 at age 85, in Floresville, TX. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa and will be dearly missed. He retired from the U.S Army after 25 years of service, and served tours in Indochina, Korea and Vietnam. He was an avid artist in water colors and was a member of the San Antonio Water Color Group along with the River Art Group. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ruth Bower; parents, and brothers, Ben and Mert. Survivors, wife of 54 years, Peggy Bower; son, Jim Bower IV; daughters, Patsy Kindberg and husband, Charlie, and Donna Ewers and husband, Tom; grandchildren, Amber, Melanie, Chelsey and TJ; brother, Bob and Shirley Bower; and sisters, Marlene and Wally Markestad, Grace Adams, Caryl and Aaron Solsrud.
