James Paul Fisher of Pflugerville, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2022 at the age of 70. James is preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Beverly Taylor Fisher, and is survived by his mother, Nelvina Fisher, his sister, Rebecca Overdorf, and his nieces Kim Phillips and Kathy Malvern.
James was born and raised in San Antonio and graduated from Winston Churchill High School in 1969. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking and camping, especially in the mountains of Colorado. An avid stargazer, James built several of his own telescopes and was a very talented planetary photographer. He also enjoyed reading and writing science fiction and poetry and even had some of his poetry published in a prominent poetry magazine. While James and Beverly had no children, they both had a soft spot for animals and rescued several stray cats and dogs over the years, providing all of them with a loving forever home.
A brief graveside service will be held for James on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Mission Burial Park South in San Antonio.
