James “Bud” E. Legg Jr, 98 years old, went home to be with the Lord on September 4th, 2025 in San Antonio, TX. Born November 1st, 1926 to Mae and James Legg Sr. He grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana with his 3 siblings Ernest, Dorothy and Helen. He proudly served in WWII, and returned home and began a career in the Oil and Gas Industry in Houston, TX. He had many a tale about walking gas lines in remote areas of South Texas, and working as a Supervisor for a Pennzoil Gas Production Rig in the Gulf which he retired from in ‘86 after 36 years of service. Married to his beautiful wife February 10th, 1948, they spent many happy years together. They had no children of their own but loved their nieces and nephews and their beloved dog Shae. He spent many days bass fishing with family and friends, out on his boat at Lake Charles or Toledo Bend. He took care of and befriended all of his neighbors. He strongly believed in Jesus and of the Christian faith. He believed in helping those who could not help themselves.
It was a life well lived.
