

James Albert Saylors, aged 78, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016. James was born February 25, 1938 in Paris, Texas. His family relocated several times during his childhood, including years in San Antonio, TX, Jackson, MS, and finally Shreveport, LA, where he graduated from Fair Park High School in 1956. James earned his Bachelor's (1961) and Master's (1963) degrees in Architectural Engineering from the University of Texas and was a very proud Longhorn. He served in the United States Army Reserves from 1963-1969.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Emma Saylors, as well as his sister Dorothy Brumley. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Becky; daughters Karen Saylors and Rebecca Williams; daughter-in-law Betty Hall and son-in-law Russell Williams; and adored grandchildren, Henderson Saylors-Hall and Jack Williams. James is also survived by his brother, Fred Saylors, and sister, Wanda Russell, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
James had a long and successful engineering career in Houston, TX, that culminated in starting his own firm, Ferro-Saylors, Inc, in 1990. His work and personal life often included travel - two of his favorite destinations were Spain and Brussels, Belgium. He retired to Boerne, TX in 2003 and divided his time between traveling, playing golf, and spending time with family.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
