

James Edward Schott, age 76, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas. James was born on June 11, 1946, in San Antonio, Texas, to parents, Maxine and Martin Joseph Schott Jr. He is one of five children who all grew up on Devine Street, in San Antonio, Texas. James’s father was in the first graduating class from Central Catholic High School in 1932. He followed his father and brothers and graduated from Central Catholic in 1964. Upon graduating from Central Catholic, he served in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1970. On July 15th, 1967, he married, the girl across the street, his wife of 55 years, Adriana Virjan and they have four children & four grandchildren. He graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He started working at Northside State Bank & worked his way up to Loan Officer. He left Banking and worked at UT Health, in their business office where he worked with budget and payroll, until his retirement. James loved working in his yard and cleaning the garage. He enjoyed being outside with his favorite dog Sadie & now with his dog Whiskey. He was in several bowling leagues with his father-in-law and enjoyed fishing. James never missed watching his kids practice or going to their games. He was preceded in death by, his parents, Maxine and Martin Joseph Schott Jr. James is survived by his wife, Adriana; sons, Brian and wife Maria Schott, Paul Schott & Matthew Schott; daughter, Jennifer Eaton & husband John; grandchildren; Gabriella, Alejandra, Brian Jr & Julian; brothers, Martin Joseph Schott III & his wife, Nancy; brothers, Charles Schott, Gerald Schott & his wife, Linda; sister, Sharon Hatzenbuehler & 10 nephews & nieces.
The family would like to thank Embrace Hospice, Dr. Christopher Caulfield, Dr. Gregory Buser, Dr. Gerardo Ortega, Dr. Alan Siqueiros & the staff at NE Baptist Hospital for their care and compassion.
