

He was born in Rosebud, Texas on November 16, 1935 and had grown up in the Tulsa, OK area on a fishing resort and dude ranch.
After graduating from Webster High School, he attended Oklahoma A&M University before beginning his lifelong career as a salesman where he was involved in all aspects of the Ready-Mix concrete business.
He pioneered and was champion of the sport of water ski kite flying.
During his childhood, he served as an altar boy and was musically gifted and played the violin. Later, as an adult, he loved to sing and was an avid hunter and had won Oklahoma, Texas, and World duck calling championships.
Larry will always be remembered for his great sense of humor; he loved to make everyone laugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Maimie Wright.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Monk Wright of Abilene; sons, Larry Wright and wife Gwynne of McQueeney, Steve Tisdale of Las Vegas, NV, Ricky Wright and wife, Leslee of Austin, Randy Wright and wife Denise of Austin; grandchildren, Jennifer and Kristal Wright of McQueeney, Weslee and Rachael Wright of Austin, and Lindsey Hale of Austin; sister, Patricia Haley and husband Chris of Tulsa, OK; mother-in-law, Allene Monk Cochran of Abilene; and brother-in-law, Sherman Monk and wife Anita of San Angelo; numerous nieces and nephews.
