Doctor James Albert Wynn, our beloved “Pappaw,” has passed from this earth and into the arms of God. He was so many good things to so many people. He was everyone’s idea of a gentleman cowboy, a great friend, outstanding doctor, wonderful father, and amazing grandfather. He went to join his forever love, Vigie Reuthinger Wynn, on February 15th, 2025.
The two met in high school in Laredo, Texas, and they were married in 1955. Jim was in general practice in Lockhart and Alice, Texas, before training as an anesthesiologist in San Antonio. He was in private practice as an anesthesiologist until his retirement in 1993. He was a great outdoorsman; enjoying hunting, fishing, mountain climbing and ranching into his 90’s. He was at his most happy place when doing these things with his wife of 65 years, Vigie, by his side. When Alzheimers struck Vigie in the last decade of her life, Pappaw was a role model for us all in his constant care of her and undying love. He will be missed by us all. He leaves behind his three devoted sons Robert, Mike and David, as well as their grateful wives, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The family will be having a private service; but, if you would like to make a donation in Jim’s honor, please send it to soldiersangels.org. Enjoy riding the ranges of Heaven with your best girl by your side, Dad. You will always be in our memories and our hearts. Vaya con Dios.
