The fourth of 6 children, Jan was known for her straight A's, athleticism in track & field and cheerleading, but mostly for her big heart. She would give you the shirt off her back, and always had a bowl of cat food for any stray that crossed her path. She graduated Salutatorian from Samuel Clemens HS in 1981 and then Magna Cum Laude from UTHSCSA school of Physical Therapy in '85. She loved her work and her patients and took pride in their care and rehab.
In eternal rest she joins her father John Sheedy and her sister Carolyn Gold. She is survived by her husband, Steven Slater; mother Kathy Phipps and husband John; siblings, Karen Morrison, Lt. Col. Mark Sheedy Ret. and wife Paula, David Sheedy and wife Sharon, Gail Branum and husband Brian; numerous nieces and nephews and her 3 cats Roxi, Mia and Callie.
