

Jane Miller Timperley went to be an angel with the Lord on Monday, August 26, 2002.
Jane was born December 14, 1916 in Iron River, WI. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, receiving her undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma and Master of Library Science from Rutgers University. When first married, she helped with all the chores on their farm. She was a secretary, first to the chief nurse and then the chief dental surgeon at Womach Army Hospital, Fort Bragg, NC. She was a medical librarian at the New Jersey College of Medicine and Dentistry. Her last job as a librarian was at Trinity University. She loved swimming, hiking, bird watching, and flying her Piper Pacer after earning a private pilot's license. Jane was an active member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, served on the commission on missions, the church council, Pastor-Parish Relations Committee, Lay Pastoral Care Committee, a member of various mission work teams, Wesley Class, Emmaus, and United Methodist Women, and a member of the Wesley Community Center Auxiliary. She spent time working at Heifer Project International and worked on several Habitat For Humanity projects. As a volunteer at Grandparents Outreach, the children she helped with reading all called her "Grandma Jane". She was preceded in death by her parents, the Reverend John Ernest Theodore Miller and Dorothy Carter Miller, her sister Doris Finwall and her brother John Miller. She is survived by her husband, John Richard Timperley of San Antonio; three children, Maryjo Skvorz of Madison, AL; William C. Timperley of Fairfax, VA; and Marianne Peck of Madison, WI; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
