Dear Ira, 
I am distressed to learn of Casey's passing. We had such fun at our 50th reunion where I met you for the first time. Casey and I were good friends at Newcomb, both majoring in Psychology and being active on campus. I shall always remember her as one of my favorite classmates and at future reunions shall miss seeing her bright smile and enjoying her wonderful enthusiasm. Jackie V.Hendershott

I met Casey at her 50th reunion from Newcomb College. She and Ira added so much to the energy and fun of the weekend. I remember that she loved to wear really cool jewelry, and had the best smile. This is reflected in the online photo I saw prefacing her memory page. I am glad that I was able to meet her, even if briefly.

Dear Ira and Family: 
I want to express my deepest sympathy to you and the family. I had the greatest pleasure a few weeks ago taking my granddaughter to the Tulane Summer Lyrics Theatre at Dixon Hall and explained to her with fond memory about Casey riding her bike down the aisle and winning our soriety skit. It's wonderful to share such memories about someone you knew with your grandchild.

I met Casey a year ago when she asked me to help Ira get into shape at Purely Physical. I enjoyed working with Ira and chatting with Casey about weekend plans and family. They were a beautiful couple and an inspiration to me. Both of them expressed their love for eachother constantly, and Ira often commented to me how lucky he was to have her. She was an amazing woman who was full of life and love for her family, especially her husband. I will truly miss her and Ira. I wish Ira the best, and hope that he can keep his love for Casey alive in his mind. Please tell Ira that I am thinking about him and praying for him and his family. God Bless, Mary Kay Sheeran

Dear Lieberman Family, this is from Vesta, your babysitter of many years. I am so sorry that your Mother is no longer here with us. The world was a better place with her in it. I only found out last night that she was no longer with us. I feel cheated that I did not get to say good bye to her and that I did not get to grieve with everyone at the memorial services. Some of the things that I remember are when she took you, Steve, to see baby chickens hatch and your guitar lessons. I remember how she switched from golf to tennis to involve her children in the same sport. I remember how she would get those great candies from Austin and I would eat many of them when I babysat with you all. I remember taking you all to the carnival at MacArthur and tiedying teeshirts. I remember many, many things. I still have the note you gave me with the alarm clock when I went off to college. I am so very sorry that your Mother Wife is no longer here for you to talk with. You all have a special place in my heart as does Casey.

In honor of your memories, in sadness for your loss, many thoughts are with you today. The memories will be with you always---Thinking of your family in this time of sorrow. I also recently lost my Father and it is the hardest thing I have ever been through. Mr. Lieverman if you need someone to talk to please know you are always welcome to call. AND PLEASE...get Ellen to call me, I not only lost my Dad but by the grace of God have a wonderful grandson and son in law I would love to tell her about. Again my heart goes out to all of you.

To Casey's Family, 
I am writing on behalf of myself and my family to say what a special person Casey was to all of us. Her energy, enthusiasm, and optimism was truly remarkable. As a young professional starting my social work career, Casey was a role model to me and someone I admired greatly. When I was working for St. Philip's College, I got to work closely with Casey on the Kimmelman Child Care Scholarships. She cared very much about the young women who were awarded scholarships and took an interest in each one. On a personal level, Casey was someone whom I was proud to know. I still remember a visit to her home many years ago with her adorable granddaughters and how much love she had for them. Myself, my husband, my parents, and my grandmother all appreciated, admired, loved, and respected her. She will be greatly missed.

To Casey's family...My name is Barbara Lamont, and I am an academic advisor at The Colleges' Freshman Advising Center at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Previously, I worked as an academic advisor at the Tomas Rivera Center for Student Success at UTSA. It was during that time when I was the case manager for the Kimmelman Childcare Scholarship that I met Casey. Over the years, our professional relationship was productive and most satisfying. Many students were helped because of Casey's tireless efforts on behalf of San Antonio's college students. She was one of the most empathetic, conscientious and fair indviduals I have ever met. On a more personal level, I think Casey was a truly remarkable woman. I was thrilled when she invited me to her photography exhibitions; she was truly gifted. She shared stories about visiting her grandchildren, about Mr. Lieberman's illness -- even about when she had the house re-decorated. She delighted me with tales about her excursions to Mexico! I just loved talking to her. Casey was kind -- a true inspiration, and I will miss her. May you find peace in the days ahead. Kind regards, Barbara Lamont

When I first graduated from law school and made the decision to live in San Antonio, Casey sought me out. At the time she was President of the Temple and I couldn't believe that she would take such an interest in a kid like me. I remember being so proud that there was a woman at the elm of my Temple. Casey invited me to be on the Board of Planned Parenthood which launched my life in public service in San Antonio. She would blush, I'm sure, to know how much she influenced my life. She was a person of action and was great to work with. I never heard her say an unkind or bitter word. I never heard her complain. She was always up and smiling. Casey was a generous and and thoughtful friend. I will miss her.

It is difficult to imagine a world without Casey. She was a woman of great accomplishment at a time of limited expectations and narrow notions of possibility. She was a person of great conviction, when all too often too many of us yielded to prevailing thought. She was a woman with seemingly unlimited curiosity and eagerness for discovery that took her to places less traveled to dig -- figuratively and literally. It's hard to imagine a United Way without Casey. To not have her here, helping the Committee make tough decisions about mothers or fathers who might be able to advance their education or learn a skill because her project provided the child care their children needed. How fitting that we be asked to consider gifts to the Kimmelmann Child Care Scholarship Fund in lieu of flowers. It's hard to imagine a life without Casey or a Casey without life.

My memory is working with Casey at United Way for 14 years. I loved it when she came home from a trip with lots of photographs to share. She was a caring and lovable individual. Casey was a friend and will truly be missed. My sympathy is extended to Steve and family.
