Janice Marie Morris Houck

The Morris family moved to New Orleans when Janice was a young girl. She attended Dominican High School and Loyola University New Orleans, where she was 1949 Homecoming Queen. Janice met Louis, her husband of 64 years, when he was stationed in the Navy in New Orleans. Janice and Louis moved to Houston in 1962, where they lived until summer of 2014. They then moved to Morningside Ministries at Menger Springs, Boerne, Texas, where Louis still resides.

Janice is survived by her devoted husband, Louis; her son, Louis Jr. and his wife Molly; daughter, Joan Reed and her husband Rick; grandchildren, Ben Houck and wife Lori, Beth Hawkins and husband Aaron; great grandchildren, Savannah, Tristan, Katie, Audie, Charlie and Grey; her brother, Benjamin Morris and his wife Susie; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Janice's doctor, Gregory McCarroll and everyone at Morningside Ministries at Menger Springs, all of whom took extraordinary and compassionate care of Janice. Enduring gratitude to Maggie Medina, who cared for Janice with such affection in her last days.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, November 17th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Boerne, TX.
