Janice Ann Wilford, age 78, went to be with our Lord and Savior on April 13, 2020 in San Antonio, TX. She was born in San Antonio, TX on April 8, 1942 to Sylvester and Elaine Rabel. She was a very caring and loving mama, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend. She was truly a beautiful soul. She loved New York Yankees and Houston Astros baseball, Houston Texans football (formerly Houston Oilers), Spurs basketball, music (Elvis), owls, and spending time with her family attending sporting events. Her love of owls started when she blazed the trail and became the first graduating class of Highlands High School as a Mighty Owl. Five of her children followed in her footsteps attending Highlands High School and her youngest attended Concordia Lutheran High School. Janice & her family were long time parishioners of St Paul Lutheran Church and Concordia Lutheran Church back when it was located off Basse Rd. Janice worked for Alamo Cement Company for 50+ years where she made many close friends that became her second family. She was the last of the Alamo Cement “Golden Girls” and it gives us peace knowing she is reunited with so many friends and family that she loved! She was greatly loved and will truly be missed!
Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Ross Wilford. She is survived by her six children: Tammy Yvonne McNabb and her husband Chet, Jeffery Ross Wilford, James Martin Wilford, Douglas Francis Wilford and his wife Jennifer, Gregory Wayne Wilford and his wife Valeria, and Jason Derek Wilford and Amy Perrine; six grandchildren: Sutton Daniel Wilford, Tyler James Bozzo, Braedon Douglas Wilford, Bradley Charles Wilford, Gregory Taylor Wilford, and Brennen Derek Wilford; brother: Richard Wayne Rabel and wife Celeste; nephew: Adam Rabel and wife Becky; niece Alyson Rabel and her husband Peter Curtiss.
