Janie Adele Mendoza entered into the loving arms of Our Lord on March 11, 2025 at the tender age of 53. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on February 17, 1972 to parents, Angie Quiroga and Juan Mendoza
Janie had a vibrant and free-spirited approach to life, always embracing joy and creativity in everything she did. From childhood, she displayed a natural nurturing instinct, caring for her dolls as if they were her own children—dressing them, strolling them around, and tucking them in at night. That motherly love only grew stronger as she became a devoted mother and grandmother, always cherishing time with her children and grandkids.
Music was the soundtrack to Janie’s life, bringing her happiness and setting the tone for her days. She had an incredible talent for DIY home projects, adding beauty and personality to every space she touched. A proud sports mom, she cheered from the sidelines with passion and pride, always her children’s biggest fan.
Janie also had a love for beauty and fashion, and her signature pink lipstick was as much a part of her as her radiant smile. She found peace in gardening, nurturing flowers and plants that bloomed under her care, just like the love she shared with those around her. Shopping was another of her favorite pastimes—whether finding the perfect outfit, home décor, or a thoughtful gift, she always had an eye for style and detail.
If you knew Janie, you knew she lived life on “Janie Time,” embracing each moment with a lighthearted, fun-loving spirit. She welcomed everyone with open arms, always making people feel accepted and loved. Above all, she embodied the belief that a smile is contagious—and hers certainly left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She will be reunited in heaven with her mother, Angie Quiroga; and daughter, Ann Marie Caevas.
Her memory will forever live in her children, Zackary (Marissa), Jeremy (Pamela), Matthew and Dominic; husband, George Anthony Cuevas; grandchildren, Delma, Ethan, Zariah, AnnMarie, Noah, Zackary Jr., and Zeppelin; siblings, James Mendoza and Jeannette Mendoza. Her legacy will also be cherished by her nieces, nephews, numerous friends and extended family.
