Jean Hodges, born July 22, 1930 in Dallas to Roy and Ethel Taliaferro, took her last swing on February 2, 2014 after many rounds of golf with her good friends. A believer in Jesus she never lost faith that she would be reunited with the love of her life since grade school, her husband of 56 years, Sam. Together they traveled the world from South America to Paris, France always enjoying the simplest pleasures in life. Jean and Sam lived in many South American countries before settling in San Antonio where she took up the sport of golf, becoming the "whole in one recipient" twice at Sontera Country Club. Jean hosted many charitable Golf Tournaments and raised money for the less privileged. Jean was quite adventurous and she never let a moment get by her as when she went sky diving when she turned 75, walked up the steps of the Eifel Tower in 2005, planted coconut trees in the forest to support hungry children and hiked the Texas Hill Country when she was 82. Jean leaves behind a son, Brad; grandchildren, Kyle, Kathryn, and Stephen; her dear friends Barbara and Gary Baker, Kyle Neumann and Lilly Lara and her cat Smoke.
