Jean was born in Patterson, NJ but she was brought up in Hartford, CT. She was a graduate of Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in New York.
Jean was a homemaker for many years and then used her secretarial skills as an admin for a laboratory once her daughters had left home. She moved to Texas to be closer to her daughters and where she continued her love of bridge.
Jean was predeceased in death by her husband of 26 years, George E. Wood, Jr.; and a grandchild, Nikki Andrukat. She is survived by daughters; Ann Henson and husband, Geoffrey and Debra Andrukat; 4 grandchildren; Matthew Henson and wife Karen, Kelly Bullis and husband, Tim, David Andrukat, Amy Russell and husband, Patrick; and 7 great-grandchildren.
An inurnment will take place in Hartford, CT at a later date.
