Moving to San Antonio as a young girl, she graduated from Jefferson High School in 1947 to marry David Graeber in December 1948. Together they had three children, Larry, Jeeta Lynn and Terry who they raised in Austin.
Besides her commitment to her church, she served as PTA president and was involved in various other community services.
Following her divorce from David in 1967 she went to work for the Texas Hospital Association in Austin as a receptionist until 1975. Then in 1982, rekindling a friendship with chemical engineer, Mexican National Roberto Caraballo, who had recently lost his wife in a car accident, they began a courtship and subsequently married in 1984 to live in Guadalajara, some of her fondest years as they enjoyed traveling Europe and North America together.
In 2002 they bought a condominium in San Antonio to see more of their granddaughter, Aiyin. In 2005 while involved in making San Antonio their permanent residence, Roberto passed away leaving Jeeta to resume life as a widow.
Finding solace in her family and church she courageously pressed on. In the closing days of her life she requested that her son and daughter-in-law look after her dog, only regretting that she would not be able to see her granddaughter's future wedding, she assured us all that she was happy and knew that the Lord loved her.
Jeeta is survived by her sister, Jan Brucks; two, sons Terry and Larry; daughter-in-law, Sharon and granddaughter, Aiyin.
A good mother and grandmother, she will be quietly remembered at 11 am on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at her church the Shenandoah Congregation of the Community of Christ, 11910 Vance Jackson.
