LTC (USA, Ret.) Jeffrey Dwight Peppers was born on October 21, 1951 in Toledo, Ohio to Walter and Doryce Peppers. He died in San Antonio on May 15, 2024 after many years of declining health. As the son of an Army officer, Jeff spent his early years moving often. His family moved to San Antonio when he was in high school. After graduating from Roosevelt High School, he moved to Houston where he attended Rice University (BA, MA) and the University of Houston (JD). His Army career started in 1976 when he was commissioned into the US Army Transportation Corps. After 30 years’ service, he retired in San Antonio and began his second career at the Alamo, first as a docent, then a guide, and teaching history at Northeast Lakeview College and the University of Phoenix. He is survived by his wife LTC (USA, Ret.) Janet Peppers and daughter, Anne Peppers. Private burial will be at Fort Sam Houston.
