I knew Jena from a long long time ago and was sadn by this information. She was such a a beautiful person. And my heart filled with dread to hear of her passing. R.I.P. my old friend. I love you. And of course the parents of Jena. Not sure if you remember me. But I surely remember you guys and all the kindness you showed me. Thank you for letting me be part of your daughter's life and yours as well.

I love you Jen. You will never know what you meant to me and how much I will miss you!

I was one of Jena's teachers at Gorman. I can still hear her laugh. She was a bright spot in my class and I will 
never forget her. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Jay and family, Jay, you and Georgianna did a wonderful job raising Jena. The few times I was with her, she left such an impression on me; as you all mentioned at the service, she lit up the room with her smile and joy. Even though she had the constant burden of diabetes, Jena epitomized the vibrant and happy young woman who just happened to be beautiful as well. This could only have come from positive and loving parents such as yourselves. It was my privilege to have known her!

Such a sad day burying out one of a kind, Jena. She truly brought laughter and joy to all. She lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed every minute. It is a comfort to know that you are no longer suffering in pain. 
We love you, Jena, and look forward to seeing you in eternity.

I will always remember her smile and energy. She will be truly missed!

I met Jena one time and was most impressed. I could tell she loved life dearly. Her smile was captivating. Now she's a radiating star shining down from the heavens. May God bless you with beautiful memories until you are again united.

I never knew her, but if she's from my good friend Jay and Gorgeiana(SP), then I know she was special. God love her and the family.

Jena is a very special person. I could tell that the first thing we met. She has gone on to the next stage. I look forward to seeing her again under the best circumstances we all could ever ask for. We cry for our loss but Jena is rejoicing her next step.

I only had the opportunity to spend time with Jena a few times, but each time I did I left the conversation feeling uplifted by her enthusiasm. To Jay and the rest of Jena's family and close friends, I am sorry for your loss.

As we prepare for the service and our time together, I want to make this entry to acknowledge the profound sadness that Doug, Emery, Wilbur and I feel. Jena was particularly close to children and especially close to her nephews. She always put them first, entertained and nurtured them, and found the strength and energy from some deep well of compassion for the sweet innocents in her life: children and animals. Even when she shouldn't have the wherewithal, she did, somehow for them. I recall it as if it were yesterday, the Armentrouts leaving San Antonio after a wonderful visit with Uncle Chad and Aunt Jena. Emery was teary and trying to comfort Wilbur, who was inconsolable. Wilbur cried and clung to Jena, cried all the way to the airport, every step of the way through security, as we boarded the plane, and as the plane lifted off from the runway he sobbed in my lap for the way he missed Jena. The both loved all the things she did for them, her thoughtful preparation for their arrival, the kitty cats and dogs... A week or so after getting home to Seattle, an envelope arrived from Jena full of pictures of each animal. Wilbur taped them up all over his room, where they still are today. She has, still has, a special place in her spirit for tender ones and I know she will continue to be a light and warmth to them each day. Love and Remembrance,
