Jennie H. Claypool

Jennie was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 28, 1923. She lived in Ohio until graduating from High School where she met her high school sweetheart, Leo Michael Claypool. The couple moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1945.

Jennie was one of the first executives hired at the Nursing Services Division of the Methodist Hospital shortly after the San Antonio facility was built. After retiring from the Methodist, Jennie and her husband moved to Houston where he was an executive with Brown and Root Corporation and Jennie was an Account Executive with Continental Insurance Company. Upon retirement from their second professional careers, they moved back to San Antonio to be close to their children and granddaughter.

Jennie was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Michael Claypool. She is survived by her son, Patrick John Claypool and his wife, Janice; son, Michael Joseph Claypool and his wife, Sandra; granddaughter, Tracie Claypool Altum and her husband, Johnny, all of San Antonio.

Jennie was a devoted wife and mother, plus a person of strong conviction with regard to helping others. She loved sports as did her husband and she was relentless Houston Astro's and Texas Longhorn fan. She and her husband devoted their entire lives to the welfare of their children and believed the most important things in life are family and friends.

The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff and the many people at the Independent Living and Health Care Facilities at the Forum Retirement Community for their friendship and for the effort make to insure Jennie's every comfort over the last year.
