Jennifer Macias’s love language was gifts. She was such a giver.  She thought about others constantly and is one of the most selfless people I know. I have so many little trinkets and wine glasses and sugar skull kitchen items. Christmas ornaments and T-shirt’s with bananas on them. Her love is literally all over my home. She shared my twisted little sense of humor. If she saw something that reminded her of a friend she’d just get it for them. I know I’m not the only one.  She and Gunny are incredible people. The last time I got to see her was earlier this year. She met me in an H‑E‑B parking lot in Seguin in between my patients because she had gifts for me and my daughter from Christmas that she’d been holding onto. We stood there for almost an hour catching up and giggling. I squeezed her so hard because she’s such a loving sweetheart. I had no idea that’d be the last time I’d get to catch up with her.

Jen was a wonderful and loving person.   She opened her house and heart to me and then my family as it grew over the years.   The kids always love seeing Aunt Jen and Uncle Gunny.  Her happy and loving smile will not be forgotten.  She was truly family.

Happy Birthday in heaven Jen 💜 I’m gonna miss your warm hugs.  You had the most infectious smile . It always lit up the room .  This isn’t goodbye it’s see you soon

From the first time I met Jenifer, I felt drawn to her kind warmth. She always greeted me with a smile and a hug. We did a Bible Study together. Jen always asked questions and contributed. One thing that sticks in my mind and heart, is the picture of Jen and Gunny,  in the Church kitchen preparing the treat for our study group, working together as the team they were. Upon completion of the treat, Gunny disappeared. 😊 Jen touched all of our lives in special ways. We love her and are missing her. ❤️ Denny Dailey

I didn’t know Jennifer til after the shooting, but she became a dear beloved Christian sister to me. I will miss her smiling face and loving personality at church very much. Jennifer was so kind and welcoming to me when I first started going to church in Sutherland springs. She’d always compliment my style which wasn’t common for me so it always stood out. I got to know her silly side in dance class and I got to know her heart at the women’s retreats I attended. She had a beautiful soul and she has a very special place in my heart always and I miss her dearly.

So glad we had time to spend with Jennifer and Gunny this summer and be out on beautiful lake Michigan! What a treasure Jennifer is to our family… The love and the joy that radiates off of her it’s such a beautiful thing… We take peace and joy knowing that we will all be together in our fathers house someday… Sending much love and prayers to you Gunny. 💜

One of my best memories with Jennifer was her first women's retreat at Alto Frio. The trip started at the church as Gunny and Keith Braden loaded the luggage on top of my suv for seven women.  Upon arrival at Alto Frio on a cold late night, we realized the men had used ladders to load and did not pack us the use of them to retrieve the luggage.  I remember Jennifer's laughter when I was trying to climb on top of the truck.  We had such a great trip and lots of laughter.  Jennifer you are missed eminsely here on earth, but I  know you are at peace and joyful in heaven!!  Love you❤  Love you too Gunny❤

We had wonderful adventures together as a family over the Summer and Aunt Jen shared a special bond with our 3 boys. We were so lucky to enjoy time on the San Antonio River Walk, at the Historic Market Square, visiting their church, then all making our way to Georgia to help Nic & Salma move into their new home. The adventures continued with a boating trip on Lake Lanier and Nic’s birthday celebration! She made absolutely sure our boys left Georgia with an abundance of goodies and mementos they will treasure forever. We will never forget the special memories we have of her and the experiences that we shared. She was a gentle soul that was very kind and always willing to lend a helping hand. We will miss Aunt Jen dearly!

Oh Gunny.... There are no words to express the loss we all feel!!! She really lit up the world with her presence and smile!!!  Jennifer was a dear Sister in Christ!!!  I did not get to see her often but, always felt a special connection to her.   I loved her so much!!  May God grant you comfort and peace.  Sending extra love, hugs and prayers to you!!!!  ❤️🙏🇺🇸

I Loved Jennifer so much. She was the closest friend I had at church. No matter how bad my day was just a few words from her and her smile would always make it better. Life always gets busy and when I would see her at H‑E‑B she always gave me a hug and told me to come to church on Sunday.  ❤️❤️ We always said we were going to have lunch we never did . At women of Joy I felt like a outsider and she always made me feel so welcome. I will miss her every day. I loved her so much.

We had the privilege of knowing Jennifer through Hope Church in La Vernia.  Years later, I would see her at Promptu and she would always ask about our kids.  Always a smile and a kind word were on her lips.  I know she will be missed dearly.  Praise the a Lord for the hope we have in our Savior, Jesus. Jennifer is such a friendly, amazing woman and mother.   She was and is such blessing.  This is a photo Judy Chesser took when they came to visit Dawn just before the removal of her brain tumor.  Dawn loved her very much as well.

When Jennifer was passionate about what she was telling you, her eyes would shine like they were high wattage lights. Even at fifty, she never let the "little girl" that lived inside her age. Her gentle spirit is greatly missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with her family. Jennifer truly had a heart of gold and I know she will be missed by all that knew her. It was easier to be at work when she was there, she always had an ear to listen and a shoulder to lean on. She would do what she could to make a bad day better even if it was just getting out to vent and unwind a bit. She always made sure to celebrate when she could be it a co workers birthday, or a holiday. I will miss her.

Jennifer was one of the most supportive people I have ever known. She really payed attention and listened when you spoke to her. I once told her I was working to strengthen my prayer life, the next week she had notes of encouragement for me, the week after that she has brought special prayer sticky notes for me to use. She cared for her friends with a deeper love than most people can understand.

Gunny and family you have our deepest sympathies. There are no words . We only knew her for a short time but it was like it was meant to be. You opened your home and hearts to total strangers so we could serve . We spent a week serving you and loving on you and a dear friendship was made forever. So thankful you could bring Jennifer to Michigan - we did not know it would be the last we would see her😢. We will always remember that night food fellowship and reminiscing it was so fun to catch up. Just like old friends. We will continue to keep you all in our prayers❤️. Jennifer started out as one of my students, X-ray & CT. She was the sweetest person, always a big smile. After she graduated & went on she called one day and asked me to go to lunch. We met up a few days later or so. She brought me a heart shaped hand stress scroungie.  You see, I had one & it had gotten lost while she worked with me.  Running joke was I lost my heart 🤣. She brought me a new heart so I wouldn’t be heartless.  I’ve never forgotten that. Has always made me smile. RIP sweet Jennifer ♥️💜💙💗💔

Though I’ve only know you guys a couple of years. I considered Jennifer a friend to cherish. We shared a room at Women of Joy a couple of years ago and her energy was always infectious. She sure had a zest for life. Her laugh…..  Our trip to San Antonio one day was a blast, we stayed out of trouble but sure did get our shopping on.  I will miss her sweet voice singing behind me in church. Such a sweet sweet lady. Hippy, you were one blessed man to have her as your wife. Love you

I remember how kind she was at usmc stuff, and how much of a support she's been during Juan's recovery.

She was a loving, kind and joyful friend. Always had a hug for me. Enjoyed her friendship.  I will miss her.

My condolences to Gunny and family. Jennifer was a sweetheart. She always wanted a hug on Sunday mornings and had something kind to say with a smile. For Christmas last year, she gave my husband and I a drink tumbler with a deer on it. We have a hunting place and I told her it was perfect for the cabin and how much we appreciated it. She got a big grin on her face, and the next time I saw her, she had another one for me- “So you and Pat can both have one.” I will miss her sweet smile and big heart.

I knew Jennifer most of my life and every time I saw her she was smiling, happy and kind. She always sent me nice texts and messages no matter how long it had been since we had seen each other. I will miss her very much and I will honor her memory by doing my best to help others, give gifts and spread kindness. My love and prayers to all that knew her because I know they are all sad she is gone.

Jennifer was my sister’s childhood best friend and she was my friend. When my dad passed she flew to NE to be with us; knowing we didn’t have much family. She sent Christmas gifts with my sister every year. She knew I loved sloths, dogs, and high heels. That was Jennifer always paying attention to the details. She was an amazing friend to my sister, and one of the most generous selfless people I knew. She will be missed but will always be remembered. I am so sorry for your loss.   Tara Gorman

Jennifer was such a light! You could literally see the joy in her eyes while she watched you receive whatever it was she was giving you. She had this contagious laugh. She would do anything in the world for the people who just gave her time, love, friendship and communication. Anything.  She always showed up for holiday parties or birthday parties that were thrown at the clinic and that was NOT a short drive.  Jennifer is all over my home. I have furniture she gave me so I could restore that’s still in my home.  I have Christmas ornaments, kitchen towels, wine glasses, coloring books, t-shirts, a few little trinkets that are still in my truck and countless other things throughout my home that came from her over the years of our friendship. All I did was give her a friendship, time and love and that’s how she showed her appreciation for it.  She gave.  I love that I can walk through my home on a daily basis and see her everywhere.  I kept everything she ever gave me. Everything.  See her smile, her fantastic eyes shine when she smiled, hear her laugh. I’m going to miss her. I’ll see her again someday.

Gunny, Nick, Salma and Amanda, you are all in our prayers!  Jennifer was such a beautiful soul, and will be dearly missed.  We were not able to see each other often because of distance, but when we did we could pick right back up.  She had such a love for Jesus, and could sing any praise song word for word, a testimony to her heart for worship!  LOVE that wonderful lady and her beautiful spirit and memory will live on! Jennifer literally held my hand during a Women of Joy conference.  It was a very emotional time for me and she was right there with a smile on her face and compassion in her heart.  Until we meet again in God's glory my sweet friend, you will be missed!

Who didn’t love Jennifer?  She was truly an Angel placed on this earth. While we never understand why some are taken so soon, Jennifer lived everyday to the fullest.  She was compassionate and caring to every soul she met- and once you met, it was a friend forever.  I’m still in such disbelief but I will chose to think she’s watching over all of us still like she did on earth.

Had so much fun with Jennifer on our trips to Alto Frio and the coast. She gave me my first ever James Avery jewelry. It was two hearts intertwined and it meant our friendship and love would last forever. I sure miss her beautiful smiling face....beautiful lady who was my friend.

I loved her smile and laugh. I could pick her laugh out in a crowded room. It was full of life.  She loved God, hubby, kiddos,church family and friends, her pets.

Jennifer was one of the most encouraging and unconditionally loving women I've ever known.  She loved and accepted every part of a person, even the ugly parts that we tried to hide.  You are deeply loved and sorely missed, my miss kitty cat, Jennifer!

Jenn was so thoughtful. She had such a kind BIG heart for others. I'll definitely miss her coming in on a Monday morning for bible study and start singing to the music I had on.❤

When I think of Jennifer, I see her constant smile, hear her laugh and see her holding Gunny's hand. Like Windy said, her laugh could be picked out in a crowded room. Seeing the love she and Gunny shared for each other, their children and their church was beautiful and I am thinking of you all.

I remember how sweet and thoughtful she was. Jennifer knew how much I loved pancakes and one day she showed up with a stack of pancakes ornament. When I found out that Jennifer passed, frantically searched for my pancake ornament but I couldn’t find it. For something at the time that was a sweet gesture, is so heartbreaking that I can not find it.  It truly is about the little things. She was all about planting those little things that stay with us. I sincerely hope I find my pancake ornament . To this day I can see her smile as she gave it to me. Oh how she will be missed. Rest In Peace beautiful soul 💕

Jennifer and my daughter Shelly were best friends. She spent the the night at our house and I remember her beautiful giggle.  She was so loving and kind. I never heard her gossip or say anything mean about anyone. Jenny was a gentle girl and a lovely woman. I remember her hair was the color of wild honey and her cheeks were tinged with a soft rose. She was lovely. She was a Maid of Honor at Shelly's wedding and Shelly and I sang at Jennifer and Juan's wedding. I have wept terribly over her loss. Heaven is richer and we are poorer. This was the last gift you gave to me while you were in the hospital. Still thinking about other people while you were trying to get better not knowing that would be the last place you would see. You always thought about others and spent most of your days giving. I will cherish your friendship, and will at least try to carry on the gift of giving in any way I can . There are some who bring a light so bright to the world, that even after they have gone, the light remains.

It was only a few months ago that you came to Michigan for your weekend away…if I had known it would have been the last time I’d see you I would have hugged you much longer in Spectators parking lot…what a beautiful weekend we had on Lake Michigan…shopping…enjoying great food with great friends! I’m so very thankful we had that time with you a Gunny! I miss you my dear friend..but Rejoicing that you are at your eternal home with Jesus…until we meet again my friend ❤️ Love and hugs…
