

Otha Jerry Crain, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 in San Antonio. He was born on July 22, 1934 in Waldo, Arkansas to Otha and Eva Crain. The challenges he faced when diagnosed with polio at age 15 helped shape the amazing person he was; one who helped others with disabilities. Jerry worked for the Texas Rehabilitation Commission for 28 years, where he assisted those with disabilities in being productive in the community. Not only did he serve his community through his job, but also through his faith as a Life Deacon at First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Juanette Baucum and Marjorie Crain; brother, Orville Crain. Jerry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary E. Crain; son, Michael A. Crain and wife, Victoria; daughter, Suzette Quayle and husband, Jake; daughter, Sandra Laa and husband, Eddie; grandchildren: Michael Crain, Jr. and wife, Jessica, Lyndsey Byers and husband, Cody, Jessica Gonzales and husband, Jonathan, Stephanie Quayle-Moore and husband, Robert, Jordyn Crain, Kelsey Quayle, Devyn Crain, Giovani Flores, Jesse Crain; great-grandchildren: Hudson Byers, Jack Crain, Lucy Crain, Audrey Crain and Emery Byers; sister, Dorothy Franks and husband, Leo; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 16, 2015, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
