Jerry Adolph Sereno, passed away April 10, 2022, surrounded by family in his home in San Antonio, at the age of 88. He was born on July 16, 1933, in San Antonio, Texas to Adolph J. and Mearl Sereno (Lane). Jerry was known as a loving husband, father, grandfather “Pepa”, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Jerry was an Army veteran; while stationed in Germany he met and married his lovely wife, Margie. In 1957, they returned to San Antonio where they raised a family of 7 loving children. He re-enrolled in San Antonio College to continue his studies and later was employed by Sunbeam Bread Company. Jerry had a strong work ethic and was a dedicated provider for his family; eventually retiring from Borden’s and Oak Farms Milk Companies.
He enjoyed traveling with his wife, photography, reading, puzzling, gardening and cooking. He especially enjoyed playing cards and billiards with his son, Norman, as well as following various sports and news events.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margie Sereno of 62 years; daughters, Sylvia Ann Sereno, Baby Rose Sereno.
He is survived by his children, Siegward Sereno (Catherine, daughter-in-law), Angela Johnson, Norman Sereno, Carla Sereno, Lisa Sereno, Tammy Martin (David, son-in-law); grandchildren, James Sereno (Lesley), Amber Kucera (Chance), Melanie Hardy (Jordan), Christina McCrory, Drew Johnson, Madeline McAlister and Nathan Martin; great-grandchildren: Shelby, Ryan, Megan and Olivia Sereno; Logan and Carson Frazier; Austin, Brooke and Colton Hardy; Garrett, Ryleigh and Cole McCrory; as well as many other family members and dear friends.
The Visitation will be at 12 noon, Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at St. Pius X Catholic Church with the Rosary scheduled for 1:00 pm, and the Funeral Mass to follow at 1:30 pm. The Burial will continue at Sunset Memorial Park with Army Military Honors.
