The youngest of nine children, she was born in Clinton, Oklahoma to Dust Bowl farmers John and Nora Tackitt. Jessica enjoyed many years of traveling the world, living in the Midwest, Alaska, and Europe as the wife of a member of the Air Force's Strategic Air Command. Jessica was a member of Nekodah Temple No. 44, Daughters of the Nile.
She was also a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Beta Sigma Phi, Red Hat Society, San Antonio Conservation Society, and Order of the Eastern Star.
Preceded in death by daughter Joan Quintana and the love of her life for 55 years, CMSGT Frank T. Carroll.
She is survived by sons, John Robert Stermer and wife Gail, Frank Tyree Carroll Jr. and wife Linda, Charles Richard Carroll and wife Barbara, and Michael Patrick Carroll; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Porter Loring on McCullough.
