'Dear Family, I share in your sorrow. Even though I met Uncle Jesse only once, his sweet, loving spirit and his Christian faith left a lasting mark in my life. Through the years, we stayed in touch, sharing family stories and our love for the "Lord". I looked forward to our long-distance chats that kept him ever present in my heart. 'I feel truly blessed to have such an amazing grandpa! Grandpa and I have had wonderful memories that we shared, and that I am so thankful for: picking strawberries,feeding the fish in the backyard,long walks, drawing,bird watching,and those amazing planes he would make out of soda can's,I was lucky enough to have my own Kimbobeep box made out of metal that he spray painted gold. I still have it. I could hardly believe that he made all of those things. In my eyes he is a genius! Those are my memories to name a few. I really can go on and on. He touched so many hearts including mine. He made me a strong person. He would always say that everything would be ok. "Don't worry! Be happy!" He would cry in pure joy out of the blue, and then he would make me cry, with him, always ending in a joyful laugh, we could hardly contain ourselves. We were both a mess. It happened quite frequently. He had so much joy and love for everyone and for the lord. I could feel a strong spirit in him. I truly feel he is having a party in heaven. When it is my turn to go, I will be rejoicing with him. Happy Birthday Grandpa!

'Thank you grandpa for all the bike rides around Woodlawn Lake. I was do young but meant do much. I remember jogging with you after school while we waited for mom to pick us up. I loved your creativity. I duplicated your drawings trying to be as good of an artist as you are. And those adorable boxes you made out of soda cans. You also had the greenest thumb I've ever seen. Maybe that's the reason I love gardening. Whenever I plant I think how you would do it. Your life is in my garden and I will nurture it forever. I love you so much.
