

Jesus T. Garcia went to be with the Lord on November 14, 2010 at the age of 86. He was born October 15, 1924 in Seguin, TX to the late Arturo and Pola Garcia. Jesus had a passion for music. He was a singer, songwriter and at one time had his own band. He played the accordion and the guitar and was a repair and tuning specialist for the accordion for over 60 years. Jesus also worked at Alamo Cement Company for 35 years. He loved to dance, was a collector of many things, especially coins, pictures and keychains and was also known as an “ace” mechanic. Jesus will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Camerina H. Garcia; mother, Pola Garcia; and father, Arturo Garcia and brothers, Dimetrio Garcia, Trinidad Garcia, Pedro T. Garcia, Arturo T. Garcia and Federico Garcia. Survivors include his children, Maria Teresa Cortez (Juan), Alice G. Perez, Alma G. Torres, Jesus H. Garcia, Jr., Arturo Abel Garcia, Christina H. Garcia and Corina Carrillo (Leo); 15 grandchildren; 9 great-granddaughters; brothers Nieves T. Garcia, Salvador T. Garcia, Eduardo T. Garcia and Lazaro T. Garcia; sister, Clarita G. Guerrero and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
The family will receive visitors Friday, November 19, 2010 from 4PM to 7PM at Sunset Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary to begin at 7PM. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 10:00AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 102 Lorenz, San Antonio, TX 78209. Jesus will be laid to rest following services at Sunset Memorial Park. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to Vitas Hospice Care and to Tara Cortez.
