

Our beloved son, brother, uncle and ACTS brother Jesse Ramirez III (aka Possum) born December 13, 1962 was called home by our Lord on February 7, 2012, at the age of 49. He is preceded in death by his paternal/maternal grandparents: Jesse Ramirez Sr., Marina H. (Memo) Ramirez, Ignacio and Sophia Gomez, and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his parents: Jesse Ramirez Jr. and Ora G. Ramirez; sisters: Yvonne M. Toscano, Diana R. (Jerry) Mireles, Belinda J. (Dayton) Closser, and Linda L. Diaz; and brother: Rene Ramirez, nieces and nephews: Natalie (Chris) Romstad, David Diaz Jr., Nathaniel Mireles, Isaiah Diaz, Marissa Diaz, Alexander Ramirez, Alexis Diaz, Brian Toscano, Nadine Mireles, Dayton Closser, Dayne Closser, Jacqueline Toscano, Randall Toscano, Luke Diaz, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. “Possum” attended Thomas Jefferson where he loved playing football and enjoyed being around all his friends and family. He went on to Southwest Texas State University and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Jesse was employed as security police on campus at UT Health Science Center, then as an educator at Wrenn Middle School in Edgewood ISD. His love of the Dallas Cowboys was never ending. His strawberry cakes were always a hit at family gatherings, as well as, fancy chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine’s Day. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home. Friends and family will be received by the family at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, February 13, 2012 at the church. Funeral Mass will be conducted at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Monsignor Patrick Cronin presiding at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery at Cordi Marian.
