Rick was born on February 2, 1958 in Midland, Texas to Rev. and Mrs. Jim Ray Brown. He married Kathy Wilson on April 19, 1986 in Odessa, Texas. He worked for 40 years in the healthcare industry as a Chief Human Resources Officer. He received a Master's of Human Resources degree in 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandmother Thelma Toles, and his sister Carla Ford.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; two sons, Joshua Ryan and his girlfriend Chelsea, and Wesley Aaron; his brother and his wife Mr. Kyle Brown and Dr. Tricia Brown and their two children: his aunt and uncle Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Gillham along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many good friends. Rick was a Christian and a Baptist. He was a wonderful husband, friend, father, brother, son and grandson.
Rick loved his family dearly and was always the strong backbone of his family. He had a special relationship with his grandmother Mrs. Toles and lived with her for five years. He moved to Odessa, Texas with only one goal in mind, to take care of his grandmother and grandfather. He made Odessa his home and joined the First Baptist Church where he was a featured soloist and ensemble member. You could hear his beautiful tenor voice on many occasions at the church but also other venues that he sang for as well. Kathy first heard him sing in church and that was the beginning of a 37 year long relationship. He sang the song Keeper of my Heart to Kathy at their wedding which made the occasion even more special.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, September 23, 2022 at Porter Loring Mortuary West.
