She was born August 15, 1936 in Teague, Texas to CJ (Dick) and Leola McKelvey Cavender.
Jo Ann spent her life in Alpine, Texas, Greenburg, Indiana, Rocksprings, Dilley and San Antonio, Texas.
She loved the outdoors whether it was fishing, searching for Indian artifacts or tending to her roses and other flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Charley Cavender.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Albert P. Burton; son, Roy Bahlow; daughters, Helen Lockett and husband, Darrell and Stella Garwood and husband, Brian; grandchildren, Jaton Bahlow, Bobby Cooper, Jennifer Cooper and Katherine Garwood; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Irwin, Vera Blair, Lynda Helmers; brother, Fred Cavender .
