

Jo was born in San Angelo, Texas on September 7, 1942. She was the youngest daughter of Joseph Berlin “JB” Alexander and Louise Octavia (Brown) Alexander. She grew up in Del Rio and then San Antonio graduating from Alamo Heights High School in 1960. Jo worked as an expert bookkeeper for various businesses as she raised her son Chip Macon with an abundance of love and care. She married her beloved husband Bruce Terry “BT” Foster on May 21, 1983, and cherished the years she had with him. During their life together they loved taking care of their grandchildren, visiting with family, traveling, and serving in various ministries at First Baptist Church Hondo. She loved to read and tend to her garden and many flower pots.
Jo Lou was preceded in death by her husband BT Foster, parents JB and Louise Alexander, brother-in-law, James Lee Leonard, and nephew Randy Leonard.
She is survived by her only son, Chip Macon and wife Kris of D’Hanis; grandchildren, Jake Macon and wife Dara of Cedar Park, Tye Macon of Austin, and Grace Macon of Los Angeles; sisters and brother-in-law, Patricia Leonard of Sonora, Shearley Forrest and husband Tom of San Antonio; niece and nephews Louise Forrest and Mark Braue of San Antonio, Tommy Forrest of Pawleys Island, SC, Joey Forrest and wife Katy of Houston, Gary Leonard and wife Carol of Sonora; great nephews and niece, Craig Leoard of Sonora, Savannah Chambers and husband Brett of Sonora, and Zachary Leonard of San Francisco.
Visitation and a graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home in San Antonio, 1701 Austin Hwy, on August 27th. Visitation will be from 10:00 am -12:00 pm with the service following at 12:30. Memorial donations may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation, First Baptist Church Hondo or a charity of your choice.
