Joe C. Garcia

Joe “Buddy” C. Garcia, beloved husband and friend went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, surrounded by his family. He is remembered as a man of God, a devoted husband, a loving son, a loyal friend, and a dedicated colleague.

Joe is loved and survived by his wife of 46 years, Rosie; brother, Albert Garcia (Maria); sister-in-law, Stephanie Garcia; brother-in-law, Robert Elias (Naomi); brother-in-law, Alejandro Elias (Francisca); sister-in-law, Maria Elias; sister-in-law, Velma Correa (Pedro); sister-in-law, Yesenia Carvajal (Raymond); nieces, nephews, dear friends, and extended family. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rudy.

Joe was born on September 13, 1949, in San Antonio to Celia and Johnny Garcia, and celebrated his First Holy Communion at an early age. In 1969, he graduated from Fox tech High School.

In 1975, Joe met the love of his life, Rosie Elias, and married her in 1977 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. They settled in San Antonio where they celebrated 46 years of eternal love and commitment.

The pursuit of education and personal growth was a driving force in Joe’s life. In 1988, he graduated from the California College for Health Services, successfully completing all academic requirements for Respiratory Therapist. In 1999, he achieved standard of excellence in respiratory care upon completion of Registered Respiratory therapist (RRT) Professional Licensure Requirements. Joe remained a credentialed Respiratory Practitioner in good standing with The National Board for Respiratory Care until his death.

Known for his dedication and commitment to patient care, Joe earned the admiration of his colleagues and patients. His passion for healthcare left a lasting influence in the countless lives he touched throughout his career. After 30 years of dedicated service, Joe retired and cherished the time he spent traveling with Rosie visiting museums, and spending time with his family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to time 7:00 pm, Monday, November 27th, at Porter Loring Mortuary West (Near Sea World).
