Joe Regalado Santos Sr. passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the age of 83. Born October 25, 1937 in San Antonio, Texas, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Olivia R. Santos; his son, Joe Santos Jr, his parents, Abel Santos Sr and Dolores Regalado Santos; and his 6 brothers and sister.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Maria Luisa Gonzales; his grandchildren, Joe Ozzy Santos, Stevie Ray Santos, Jessica Maldonado (Sam Maldonado) and John Gonzales Jr.; his great-grandchildren, Serena Santos, Savannah Santos, Khloe Gonzales, Aubre Gonzales, Athena Gonzales and Sara Gonzales; and his extended family and friends who loved him.
Joe will be remembered as a hard working, strong, independent man. Providing for his family in every way. In his 35 years of working for the Lighthouse for the Blind, he was always someone that could be depended on. Bringing smiles to everyone around him excelling in everything he did. He has been awarded many awards from “Employee of the year” to “Hero of the month,” Joe was committed to his work and always gave it his all.
Joe was also a veteran of the US Army Reserves, this was something he was very proud of. He had many stories he would share with his family and was always someone his family could look up to, as a role model.
Above all, Joe was a family man, with a beautiful wife and two amazing children, married for 58 years, Joe was surrounded by love and happiness.
Due to restrictions on public gatherings, the Visitation at Funeraria del Angel Trevino - 226 Cupples Road 78237 - will be limited to 25 people in the building at a time. Face coverings are required at all times.
The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, January 5th from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. On Wednesday, January 6th, a Procession will depart at 9:30 AM and arrive at St. Jude Catholic Church – 130 South San Augustine Ave. 78237 - for a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II – 746 Castroville Road 78237..
