A San Antonio native, he served in the Air Force, pursued a short career in real estate, followed by a life-long career in investment advisement and financial planning.
He enjoyed sports and was an avid Spurs Fan, having season tickets since the inaugural season in 1973. He loved playing cards with family and friends.
John is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and several brothers and sisters.
The family will hold a private ceremony at a later date.
