He was a member of the San Antonio Police Department for five years, assigned to Traffic.
John was a loving father and husband. He was a member of Rector United Methodist Church.
Officer Betus was an avid shooter and a gun enthusiast. He loved motorcycles, his family and his friends. John served his country in the United States Marine Corps during Desert Storm and the Air National Guard in Operation Enduring Freedom.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Evelyn Betus and grandmother, Lounell Hipp.
John is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Louise Betus; his children, Delaney and Dylan; his father, Alexandre Betus; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sarah and Joseph Fletcher; his brother, James Betus and wife, Lori; and niece, Kelsy Betus.
Pallbearers will be the San Antonio Police Department Honor Guard.
