This Thanksgiving I was thinking about people who helped me along in my life and career. It's sad for me to say but in my youth I never put to much thought into thinking about who's helped down the path of life. The beauty though is age gives you insight and perspective. That said this Thanksgiving I thought of John. 

I wanted to thank him personally. When I went to go lookup where John is, I came across his obituary. I now regret I didn't keep in touch. 

Still, I would like to honor John and his efforts in my own personal development. John always had a positive attitude and never had hate for anyone. He always saw the best in people including me. He gave me advice, shared some important lessons that he had learned along the way, and always had a smile on his face.

I will miss John. I will miss not being able to thank him personally.

I am so sorry to hear that John has passed away. Even though we seldom saw each other I always felt his presence.

John was a true personal friend and a true colleague. However bad the situation was in a business situation he had gotten himself into; he had the capability to get himself out of it by charm and a positive thought. he will be rememebred; that is for sure.

As a kid, I spent a lot of time around the Ellis family because of their son and the Linscombs and their son. I was always treated as one of their own (even taken on a vacation or two) and will never forget the easy smile that John always had. Sorry Barbara and the Ellis family for your loss.

I just got the news today and really shock me. John was a gentleman and an open book willing to share his experience and wisdom with everybody. A truly human being and example to any one! Johnny was a vital part of our family and his passing will leave us with a void in our hearts. We marveled at his infectious smile; his uncanny talent of making complete strangers lifelong friends within minutes; his world travels, and the stories that surrounded those adventures. He enjoyed cooking and had a vast collection of cook books. He was our designated chef at family gatherings and could be found in the kitchen at Christmas (wearing Big Daddys red sweater) as he put the finishing touches on the cornbread dressing or stirred the giblet gravy. We hold dear these special moments, for they will last us a lifetime.

We will miss our big brother. We have such fond, happy memories of you in our growing up years.Love you forever.
