John earned two purple hearts while serving his country as a PARARESCUE in the United States Air Force and he truly believed in the PARARESCUE motto "That Others May Live." He retired as Captain after 26 years of service. John was a very loving husband and father and truly loved his country. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Allie Fields, and sister, Jaye Fields Ross. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Fields; daughters, Lauren Nicole Fields, and Sabrina Ashley Fields; and sister, Mary Fields Enfinger.
