John Robert Grieshaber, age 79, beloved husband, father, grandfather passed away on January 22, 2019. He was born in Mount Vernon, Illinois in 1939 to Ruth and Dewey Grieshaber. He is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio. The city of San Antonio was his passion, and helping it grow through his deep knowledge and often unconventional ideas on commercial real estate. John enjoyed a long career as a principle at Grieshaber & Roberts Real Estate Brokers. John’s larger-than-life personality and ever-present cigar created indelible memories for anyone who met him.
John is survived by his wife of 43 years Lucille M. Cockrell, daughter Tracy Grieshaber McDonald of San Antonio and her husband Vincent, son, Erik Cockrell of Cedar Park, and daughter Shelley Grieshaber of San Antonio. He is also survived by his grandchildren David, Carolyn and Holly McDonald, and Jordan and Autumn Cockrell. He is predeceased by his parents Ruth Howard and Dewey Grieshaber.
Funeral Services will be 11:30 AM, Tuesday, January 29 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 308 Mount Calvary, San Antonio, TX 78209. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
