He married Verna Lee (Small) Moltz on June 26, 1943 and was a loving husband to Verna Lee for 68 years until she passed away on April 14, 2011.
He fought bravely in Europe during World War II as part of the 402 Quartermaster Battalion and was severely wounded in Belgium in 1944. After a long recovery, he returned to San Antonio and retired from the U. S. Army as a Captain. He spent the rest of his life as a hard working and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He is survived by his brother, Olin Udo Moltz of San Antonio; his children Linda Fisher and her husband James of Austin, John H. Moltz III and his wife Candy of Midlothian, and William J. Moltz and his wife Ann of Austin; his grandchildren Debra Dollar, Wendy Fisher, John (Henry) Moltz IV, Heidi Chappell, Will Moltz, Elise Moltz, and John Moltz; and great grandchildren Bethany Dollar, Adam Dollar, Joseph Dollar, John Moltz V, and Charlotte Moltz.
We will miss John and Verna Lee very much. But this we know: they are now at peace together with their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
