He served his country in the U S Army during World War II. After the war, he went back to school and played football for the University of Oklahoma.
He was employed as a geologist with Schlumberger Oil Company, and later in sales for Underwood, Xerox, Swift, and Texas Neon. He was the manager of the Mini-Monorail during Hemisfair 68.
But of all, his family was the most important to him.
John is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jeane G. Moore; their children, Becky McClintic and her husband Steve, Scott Moore and Jennifer Mertins and her husband, Harry, all of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Brian McClintic and his wife, Shawna, Greg and Shannon McClintic, Andrea, Kristina, and Jonathan Mertins; sister, Mackie Dickinson of Norman, OK.
