

During World War II, he proudly served with the United States Army Air Corps Forces of the 3rd Air Depot Group in Agra, India, China and Burma Theater under the command of General Stillwell from 1942 to 1946.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marjorie Francis Gerhardt-Oehler as well as his parents, Emma Goerke-Oehler and Arno Carl Oehler, also of San Antonio and grandson, Jeffrey Leland Heyen.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert Charles Heyen and Sandra Holmes-Heyen and grandson, David A. Heyen, all of Deer Park, Texas. Granddaughter, Cynthia D. Heyen of Los Angeles, California. Another granddaughter and her husband, Angela and Nelson Argote and great grandchildren, Nicholas, Brendon, Marjorie, and Olivia Argote, all of Glendale, California. Also sibling-like first cousins, Irmgard Leonard and Horst Goerke, both of the City, Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Also special acknowledgement of other friends and/or family members: Audie James, Anthony and Melva Miranda, Patricia Barrett, Roland and Sheila Trevino, Tyrrell and Martha Kott, John Robbins, Sharon and Gary Carter, as well as many others too numerous to mention.
Mr. Oehler was owner and proprietor of Boggs-Oehler Furniture Company since 1952, a business originally established in 1928 in the Tobin-Hills Historical District of San Antonio at McCullough and Dewey Avenues.
