John W. Oliver, age 81, died of heart failure on January 12, 2018, in San Antonio, Texas. John (Jack) W. Oliver is survived by his devoted wife, Mikiko; and youngest son, Daniel; his daughter, Wendy and sons, John and Darryl; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren of his previous marriage to Darrilyn; along with his sister, Lois Murphy and family in Ohio. He is preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Elizabeth and Walter; mother, Thelma; his father, Ralph; and his sister, Helen.
He is a graduate of Saint Joseph High School in Ohio and California State University - Long Beach. Jack served in the Air Force and proceeded to a career in Aerospace as an engineer. He lived in California, Italy, Finland, Malaysia, Pakistan, Venezuela, Philippines, Mexico, Germany, and Canada.
Jack was a loving husband, father, brother, son, uncle, cousin and friend. He enjoyed volunteering, reading, and sports. His family and friends will remember him for his work ethic and knowledge.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Porter Loring Mortuary North.

Interment with Military Honors will follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. The Oliver family is grateful for the friendship and support from the Peele family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology.
