Known as "Jack" to his family and friends, he was the oldest of three siblings. Jack was born in Kansas, and later moved to the San Antonio, Texas area after retiring from corporate life and the United States Navy Reserve, where he obtained the rank of Captain. Jack was a proud "Aggie", having graduated from Texas A&M University. Jack was a beacon of light and humor to all those fortunate enough to have met such a kind and loving soul.
Jack will be remembered for an extraordinary life dedicated to his family and serving others in his community and his country. He served as past president of his neighborhood home owners association, and was a 20-year chairman of CONEN (Coalition of Northeast Neighborhoods), ensuring all neighborhoods be informed of current issues. Under his guidance, CONEN worked to establish the Emergency Services District #1, leading to a network of all ESD's throughout Bexar county.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Connie; brothers, Lee and Tim; children, Emily (Russell), and Eric (Hayley); 3 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents John and Elizabeth.
