John Allen Wessel, beloved husband and father, passed away September 20, 2003, at the age of 81. Born in Chicago Illinois, he went on to serve his country in World War II as a B -17 pilot for the Army Air Corps, stationed in Europe and in Africa, he completed 50 missions over the European theatre.
He was later stationed at Randolph A. F.B. and eventually retired from the USAF as a Lt. Colonel. Allen was preceded in death by his son Philip A. Wessel and brother Kenneth Wessel. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Verna Wessel; son, David Wessel; daughter, Mary Jabouri and son-in-law -Rafaiel; granddaughter Michelline "Micha" Wessel. Special thanks to Ruben Garza, Tina Schimonsky and the staff of Vitas Hospice. Their caring support allowed Allen to pass away at home in the presence of his loving family.
