

He is preceded in death by his parents, Juan C. & Angelita P. Mora; beloved wife, Mary Frances Hinojosa Mora and daughter, Mary Louise.
He is survived by his children, Mary Elizabeth Ponce (David), Johnny H. Mora (Maria L.) and Mary Jane Mora, he is also survived by his numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Johnny a well known member of the Tejano Music Community will be fondly remembered for his numerous contributions, including his work at Top Talent and the accomplishments of Los Tall Boys de Johnny Mora. Music was his passion, and you would often find him playing his favorite accordion. He was very proud of his family and his family's history. His great grandmother Juana Gertrudis Navarro Alsbury, was one of the few Texian survivors of the Battle of the Alamo. He treasured the strength of family ties and Texas roots by instilling it into his children and grandchildren.
A visitation for Johnny will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, 78211, with a Rosary service to begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park South.
