Jon's musical journey began in grade school and developed into a desire to compose, sing and play Jazz in small groups made up of special friends from his days of stage and marching band at John Marshall High School.
During his brief battle with cancer, Jon rediscovered many of his musician friends through Facebook. Their visits filled his final days with joy and happy memories.
Jon, 53, is survived by his son, Jonathan; a step-daughter, Annette Tanner; brother, Barry and wife, Crickett; sister-in-law, Jacquelyn; his mom, Barb Machado; his grandfather, Bill and uncle, Jeff Bodenhamer; aunt, Linda Weiss and many cousins, nieces and nephews. His wonderful easy going nature always made him a family favorite; his wonderful smile and infectious laugh will be missed.
A Celebration of Jon's life will be held at the Hilton Palacio del Rio in the Stetson Room on Monday, May 9th from 5:30 to 7:30.
