Jonathan Anson Byers, 53, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away surrounded by the love of those who cherished him. He was born on September 21, 1971, in San Antonio, Texas, to Oliver Flint Byers Jr. and Cecelia Taddi Byers.
Jon will be remembered for his kind and caring heart, his ability to connect with anyone he met, and his unmistakable sense of humor. His contagious laugh and welcoming presence made others feel instantly at ease, and he had a rare gift for turning strangers into lifelong friends.
He was the youngest of three brothers, growing up alongside Jerry and Joe Byers. From an early age, Jon was active and involved, participating in cub scouts, baseball, soccer, and band. No matter the activity, he brought enthusiasm, energy, and joy to everything he did.
Jon carried his natural people skills and strong work ethic into adulthood, building a successful career in the flooring and construction industry. As a skilled salesman and entrepreneur, he earned a reputation for his sharp business sense, determination, and ability to build lasting relationships. He took great pride in his work and was known for his dedication, often going above and beyond to provide and succeed.
Above all, Jon’s greatest role was being a father. As the proud father of his only daughter, Cianna, he loved deeply and fiercely. He was protective, supportive, and committed to guiding her through life with strength and wisdom. He led by example, instilling values of perseverance, independence, and resilience. Their bond was uniquely special, and his love will continue to live on through her.
Jon is preceded in death by his father, Oliver F. Byers Jr.; his mother, Cecelia T. Byers; and his brother, Joe Byers.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Cianna Byers; his brother, Jerry Byers; and many extended family members and lifelong friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Jon lived a life filled with laughter, hard work, and meaningful connections. His legacy is one of loyalty, strength, and love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
We invite family and friends to join us for a memorial service celebrating Jon’s life on March 26th at 6pm at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino (2525 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, TX 78211).
