Jose Humberto Martinez

Jose Humberto Martinez, Jr., 58, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on January 27, 1963 in Laredo, Texas to Jovita Perez and Jose Humberto Martinez, Sr. Jose graduated from Nixon High School and studied at Laredo Junior College. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Jovita Martinez, who shaped his faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. They also showed him how to live with his family, Theresa and Christina being the most important thing for him.

Jose met Theresa, the love of his life, while both were working for Montgomery Wards. She became the most important person from then on and they were happily married for 30 years. A devoted father, he was blessed with a daughter, Christina, who made him proud in her studies, sports and orchestra curriculum. He made sure to attend all of Christina’s sporting and orchestra events.

He himself loved manicuring his lawn and played baseball all the way thru the senior league. He had love of music and enjoyed his classic rock music and jamming on his several guitars, which he was really good at.

His true passion was his loyalty and love of family, including his pet Bella. He loved being surrounded with them, enjoyed the outdoors barbecuing, spending time together, embracing and cherishing every moment of each day.

Jose is survived by his wife, Theresa Martinez; daughter, Christina A. Martinez; sister, Nora Gonzalez (Nieves); brother, Johnny Martinez (Betty); sister, Ana M. Herrera (Joe); brother, Javier H. Martinez; and brother, Guillermo D. Martinez (Sophie).
