

Jose proudly served in the US Air Force and retired as a MSgt. after 26 years of dedicated service. He lived a life of service and devotion to his country. As a veteran of the Vietnam War, he served three (3) tours and traveled the world with the military.
He was a life time Dallas Cowboys fan and win or lose, was a devoted SPURS fan.
One of his passions was his enjoyment and excitement of the casinos.
He treasured being a husband, father and enjoyed family meals. He left behind memories of all the wonderful vacations enjoyed by him with his family.
Jose was an incredibly selfless man, who loved his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Teresa L. Munguia and his parents, Placido and Andrea Munguia.
Jose is survived by his children: Nelda (Ruben) Angel, Joelda Munguia, Criselda M. Munguia, Theresa Munguia (Rudy) and Jose A. (Shirley) Munguia; grandchildren: Ruben, Natalie (Juan), Nicole, Rudy (Rhonda), Zachary, Andrea (Anthony), Danielle, Angelina, Gracie and Fernando; great-grandchildren: Richard, Leonides and Aiden; sisters: Antonia Morales and Idalia (Jesse) Mendoza; brother, Agustin Munguia, numerous nieces, nephews and extended families.
Visitation will be held on Saturday and Sunday, June 6th from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and June 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the Porter Loring chapel on McCullough.
On Monday, June 8th a Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 9883 Marbach Rd. in San Antonio followed by a second Mass at St. Theresa Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m. in Premont, TX followed by interment in Premont Catholic Cemetery.
